Greetings Splendid Individuals

I am glad and excited to be part of Steemit Challenge S24W4 | Powerful Debate - Deal or No Deal, an initiative of @ruthjoe under Ladies Universe community this week. I love the opportunity of these thoughtful debates and today I’m picking one that affects all of us every single day of our life — “Breakfast is the most important meal.” I am definitely on the “Deal” side of this discussion, as I think breakfast works as the rudder to our health-filled day! I’d like to shed further light onto this subject because it is something I am in strong agreement with, and discuss how forgoing breakfast can affect our well-being and energy levels.

I would like to narrate an incident from my own life which made me understand the importance of breakfast:

Some months ago I had one of those days where I was busy, busy. I woke up late, didn’t eat breakfast because I thought I’d do it after I completed some work, and hurled myself into the day. At the beginning, all was well. But I was feeling dizzy, weak and just run down by 11 a.m. I couldn’t concentrate, my head felt heavy, and I was very grumpy over small stuff.

And then I remembered I hadn’t had anything to eat since last night! My body just needed food, and I had ignored it. I immediately served myself a bowl of oats with a few fruits and a glass of milk. I was feeling like a new person my energy had returned, my focus had sharpened and I was able to power through the rest of the day.

I vowed, after that, that no matter how rushed I am in the morning, I will never again neglect breakfast. Because I learned the hard way that breakfast isn’t just a habit it’s necessary.

Think of your body as a smartphone. As a day ends on the charger, the battery is almost depleted. What is the first thing you do? Plug it in to recharge. That’s precisely what breakfast does for your body and brain it gives you energy! Skipping it feels like starting your day at 10% slow, foggy and surviving on fumes.

When we wake up from what has essentially been hours of fasting while we were sleeping, our bodies are begging for energy. Breakfast breaks the fast, giving your body the needed nutrients to jumpstart your metabolism, sharpen your focus and energize you for whatever activities you have lined up for the day. Without it, our brain chugs along the way a carburetor does without gas, and our body feels as though it’s stuck in first gear.

Metabolism Booster

By eating earlier in the day, you jump-start your metabolism and burn more calories more efficiently throughout the day. Skipping breakfast usually means overeating later.

Brain Food for Focus

Breakfast is full of nutrients that enhance concentration and memory. Whether you’re heading to school or office or starting your work on the chores at home your brain thinks better with chow.

In a world of fast lives and missed meals, I think breakfast should be celebrated and appreciated. It’s not solely about food it’s about giving yourself energy, care and kindness, which everyone deserves in the morning. 🌸

So yes, for me, it’s 100% a DEAL — breakfast is, has always been, and always will be the most important meal of the day! 🥰
