Homemade Vanilla & Chocolate Layer Cake by @isha-rehman

This is me @isha-rehman. I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your time here on Steemit. Today I’m happy to participate in the contest “This is My Dessert” hosted by the Ladies Universe community. In this contest we are asked to share a dessert that is special to our family. So I chose a very simple and loved dessert the Vanilla Chocolate Marble Cake.

This cake is soft moist and brings joy to every occasion in my home. Whether it’s a birthday Eid or just tea time this cake is always there. Let me tell you how I made it step by step.

Ingredients

2 fresh eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
Butter or oil for greasing the pan
Baking paper
Melted chocolate for topping
Chopped almond for decoration

Step by Step Method:

Step 1: Prepared the Batter

Start by cracking two egg into a large mixing bowl. Beat them thoroughly until the yolk and white are well combine. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence to infuse the batter with that lovely vanilla aroma. Mix well. Next add half a cup of sugar. Beat the mixture until the sugar dissolve and it become slightly frothy. Slowly pour in half a cup of oil to added moisture and richness to the cake. Mixed well again. Gradually added 1 cup of all purpose flour and gently fold it into the wet mixture. Continue mixing until you have a smooth lumped free batter.

Step 2: Making Vanilla and Chocolate Batters

Carefully divide the batter into two equal parts. To one part keep it as is this will be your vanilla batter. To the other part add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder. Mix thoroughly until the cocoa is fully incorporat creating a rich chocolatey batter.

Step 3: Prepared the Pan

Take a deeped cooking pot or and grease the bottom generously with butter or oil. Place a piece of baking paper on the grease surface to prevent the cake from sticked and to make removal easier after baking.

Step 4: Layered the Cake

Here come the fun part Start by pouring a spoonful of the vanilla batter into the center of the pan. Next pour a spoonful of the chocolate batter directly on top of the vanilla batter in the center. Continue alternating spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate batters always pouring in the center. The batter will naturally spread out and create beautiful rings or layers of vanilla and chocolate. Keep going until you have used all the batter. This method create a stunning marble like effect once bake.


Step 5: Baking the Caked

Cover the pot with a lid and place it on a low flame on the stove. Baked for approximately 40 minute. You can also baked this cake in a preheat oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minute if you prefer. To check if the cake is done insert a toothpick in the center. If it come out clean your cake is ready.


Step 6: Decorating Your Cake

Once the cake is bake and cool slightly pour melt chocolate evenly over the top for an extra layer of indulgence. Sprinkle some chop almond or any nut of your choice for add texture and a lovely decorative touch.

The cake is soft moist and perfectly balance between the smooth vanilla and the deep rich chocolate. Each bite offers a delightful combination of flavors that sure to please everyone. Enjoying it as a special treat with your family or served it during celebration or tea time. I had so much fun make this cake and I hoped you feel inspired to try it yourself.
