Good day steemians!

_{Me and my sister who sent a birthday surprise requested by her husband working abroad.}

One early morning, my sister asked to drive her going to a friend’s house because our friend ordered a crochet bouquet (my sis sideline) made by her for his wife’s birthday. To make it a bit sweet, my sister requested to buy a birthday cake. And since, the birthday girl is also my friend so I just accompanied my sister to give the surprise ordered by the husband of the birthday girl. (Medyo libog noh? Ako pud naglibog na😃)

When we reached their place, we then prepare her cake for her to blow. We are a bit shy that time, we suppose to deliver the order only but since its our friend we just do the surprise greetings. The birthday girl is a bit teary eyed.

I can feel her, I am also an OFW wife and it is really not so easy. Good to her that she is not a working mom but she has 3 kids to take care and it is really difficult to manage the time. And that simple surprise really made her feel validated to all her sacrifices.

Many people would say, “hayahay kay iyang bana abroad”, they just cant relate how we feel living life without them on our side. Yes they had bigger salary abroad but as you go abroad, you also had bigger expenses like their room rentals there, there food and so on.

For me it became the best photo because of all the emotions I felt that time. Excited because we were able to surprise a friend for the first time. We always surprise a family member but not a friend. Feeling loved because I can feel how the OFW husband validated her sacrifices. A simple surprise to a stressful ofw wife is perfect.

All the husband out there, OFW or not, we should take good care of our wife working or not because PPD is so rampant here. We should always let them feel that we were always at their side no matter what happens.
