ALL-FEMALES GROUP PRACTICAL: PRODUCTION OF ACRYLIC PAINT
Greetings, Steemians, Trust you all are doing great. Yesterday I had the privilege to have a hands-on experience with a few of my coursemates in school. We were just females. Hang on as I share this thrilling process with you.
INTRODUCTION
Following the required process at school to complete my industrial training, we were assigned into different groups to produce several things using chemicals. My group was to produce ACRYLIC PAINT. We all know what a paint is, what it looks like, and what it is used for. Paint is a type of slurry liquid pigment used on the walls of buildings to beautify and make a structure colorful. It comes in different types; it could be emulsion, oil-based, acrylic, etc. We majored in Acrylic paint.
MATERIALS USED
I might not necessarily remember all the names of the materials we used, but I'll list a few common ones. We used:
.Titanium oxide
.Pigment (White)
.Water
.Thickeners
.Anti-fungi
.Preservative
.Ammonia
PRODUCTION PROCESS
This was the best part of all; we used our knowledge and the skills we gathered from experts to actualize this production. We personally produced this paint from scratch manually by: - Pouring water into a bucket.
-Adding titanium oxide, mixed and stirred continuously.
-Poured and mixed our thickener, continuously stirring.
-Added our anti-fungi and preservative, still stirring.
-Added some water and stirred properly.
-Finally added ammonia.
Ammonia has a pungent smell and could be dangerous to inhale; that's why we used nose masks, gloves, and safety lab coats while producing.
After the stirring and mixing, we got our finely made bucket of acrylic.
Finished Product;Acrylic Paint
CONCLUSION
After the production, I was really tired, but at the same time proud and satisfied that I made something useful.
It was such an amazing experience filled with fun, learning, and teamwork.
