It's story time!!!

My cousin Amanda is a very beautiful girl but the mistake everyone did was letting her know how beautiful she is and that got into her head that she wouldn't rest from going in and out of their house every minute. After her waec exams, she was asked to go to the university, but she failed her jamb exams three times and was asked to learn a skill. Amanda has always been a lazy girl, so she never did well in the first skill she was asked to learn. I later invited her over to my house in school to come stay with me and start a make up school. I agreed with her mom and when she arrived, she was so eager to start learning a skill. First, I enrolled her to a friend's makeup school so that I won't spend much and also have an eye on her. My cousin attended for 2 weeks and switched her school to another outing. Everyday she would leave the house but never went to her school. When I found out, I asked her to stop.

She was upset that her life was being controlled by others, but one day I had a sister conversation with her because I wanted to know her passion. When we got talking, I discovered Amanda had no passion, but only a dream to become a rich man's wife, how incredible. At that moment, I didn't know what to say but to advice her on what life is all about. I used myself as an example; even while in school, I had businesses I was doing to support my parents but my cousine only listened to me and that was the end. One day Amanda left the house and returned with the news that she has found her prince charming, that is her husband to be. I was surprised because I didn't understand her gist. Well, she showed me some items the supposed husband bought for her and I congratulated her.

Amanda grew so wild and aggressive because she has found her rich husband. I asked her to set a meeting for me to meet this man, that meeting was held outside my house and the moment I saw this man, I was discouraged, my instinct never accepted him. When I told Amanda about it, she got upset and threatened to kill herself if I won't let her be with the man of her dreams. This man always spoil her with gifts on daily basis and she was barely at home, infact she sleeps in his house most times and when she returns the next day, she would give one excuse to wave it off.

Amand continued with this character and I kept reporting to her mom about her attitude, she insisted that Amanda returns home but Amanda wouldn't. One faithful day, she didn't step out of the house and when I asked, she said she was not feeling too strong. I immediately rushed out to get some drugs for her. Some few weeks later, Amanda was confirmed pregnant, she told me herself and I was wowed, but she kept asking me what she should do about it, well for me, the supposed rich man who is responsible should be aware of it so I encouraged her to tell him.

Amanda knew nothing about this man but because she was so interested in becoming the rich man's wife, she ended up getting pregnant for him thinking she would trap the man with it. When she finally told the man, he asked her to abort the baby that he was not ready for that but Amanda insisted on keeping it. The man pretended to be happy and asked her to move in with him.

The moment Amanda moved in with this man, the truth about him began to surface. Amanda kept noticing his secret calls and sneaking out of the house every now and then. She never stopped disturbing me to lay a complaint but I told her that she's a rich man's wife now so it's one of those things that comes with it. The worst happened one day when Amanda was washing and a lady knocked at the gate, she opened up to discover it was the man's wife and daughter. The wife shared their life story with Amanda and it was discovered that Amanda was not the only "baby mama" he had, there were four other ladies with a child for him.

It was epic!

Amanda learnt her lessons and it in a smooth way. Well today, she's doing so well.

Moral lesson

• Never be a lazy man or woman because nothing good comes so easy, you have to earn it.

• Be mindful that all that glitter is not gold.

• Run the race when others are running so that you can get to the finished line early.

• Listen to advices when you are opportune to get one and be grateful.
