It's A Privilege, Don't Mess It/Today's Lesson Learnt While Doing My Charity Work
I woke up today feeling like doing a little charity and putting a smile in the faces of kids, so I went to the biscuit factory to buy some packs of biscuit for kids in school. I was there and then I asked for 50 cartons of biscuits and then my order was ready.
One of the factory workers asked me what I wanted to do with it, though I didn't want to tell anyone till I have delivered the biscuits to the schools that were on my mind. But then I paused and told him I was going to share it to schools, she asked me what I do for a living, now, I felt a little bit uncomfortable with that question but I had to answer it. I told her I am playing for Ashdod Panthers, she was shocked and asked if we could take a picture, I stood there and we had a picture together.
She told me she feel she can do this for her locals as well, that she has been thinking of doing something similar for her people but did not have enough resources for it. But then, she said something else that really shook me off my guard 'you are privileged to do this, don't mess it'. That was what the translator translated to me, at first, I paused and then tried to think about what she just said if I was to be happy or feel embarrassed but one thing bit me again that yes, it's a rare privilege to do this, the opportunity to be able to make another person smile is something others would do anything for but here I am doing it at will.
I thought of sharing this message with you, if you are in the position to make some other person's smile, if God places you in the position where you are seen to be the source of people's happiness, cherish it, adore it and do not mess it up. Other people are queuing for it but do not have such an opportunity.
Privileged to share this today
Do not ever think you are doing anyone any favour making them smile, you see what happens when they smile? You smile too and that is a big win for you, you get emotional seeing people you are privileged to help smile and jump up in happiness, that tears is worth more than gold or any costly element, cherish it and do not mess it up.
Just doing it, keep doing it and do not expect anything in return apart from God's blessings. Helping others that comes to me when I have the resources to brings this self satisfaction kind of feeling, I feel like I have been able to do something worth while. I will never mess it up.
As for my new friend in the biscuit factory, I have promised her that when next I am doing this, she is definitely going to be the front lead and we will be going to her locals to distribute these biscuits or whatever she wants us to distribute. Thank you my friend for teaching me a lesson today, I promise I won't mess it up.
