I don’t think progressive Americans truly understand Latino culture—and when they do, they often try to undermine it, especially when it comes to younger conservative Latinos.

As a first-generation Latino, I’m sharing my raw take on the growing divide between Latino values and progressive politics. This stitch covers culture, identity, race, immigration, antiblackness, internalized racism, machismo, and Catholic values—all through the lens of someone who lives it.

We’ll break down how progressives misread our traditions, and why more Latinos are walking away from the left.

Sadly, pundits are more likely to use ethnic groups for their ends that to accurately represent the groups.

The same thing happens with Native Americans, Blacks and other groups.

The game of pitting ethnic groups against each other to gain power goes back to antiquity.

The world needs people to stand up against the pundits who try to define them. So, keep up the good work.

I look at my in-laws, and the first generation is (generally) not progressive, and the one born here would genrally have mainstream (not woke)ideas
