It only takes a few committed people to change anything, note googles alexa being taken down today, it will in the interest of the people it listens to, be taken down again, and day after day if need be.

Because it listens to people in their own home, and a few committed people decided to shut the whole google thing down for a day, hackers, to give people a xmas day without intrusion.
