Today, the legal system governs justice. Any violation of justice is given a reasonable sanction. The sanctions are not granted by individuals who are victims of injustice, but by legal institutions. This makes revenge impossible. Revenge is considered a vigilante act. And, this is clearly considered a violation.

However, in reality there are still many who do not heed the applicable law. Many people use the old way of solving problems with others. Revenge becomes a mainstay.

Then, why is that? There are two main reasons you need to know why revenge is still a mainstay.

Emotional abuse

There is no legal umbrella that governs the emotional abuse. There are laws that regulate insult, defamation, threats, terror, and defamation. However, emotional abuse is not just limited to those actions. Many people feel abused when their self-esteem is degraded. Refusal, humiliation by degrading acts, and anger are not regulated by law.

All these actions though not a violation of the privacy of others, in fact many people hurt. Not meant to judge, this is because, the victim is too concerned with his pride. He did not want his pride to be trampled. He was too sensitive to the actions of the people he was doing to him.

The anger and resistance that most people think is commonplace, according to some people is an act of humiliation and dignity. This is what triggers the act of revenge. An article in http://www.emotionalcompetency.com/revenge.htm mentions, "The goal of revenge is to erase shame and humiliation and restore pride." The purpose of revenge is to remove shame and humiliation and restore pride.

Restore the past

Revenge is done because the punishment inflicted on the perpetrator does not make the victim feel satisfied and lost the pain of his heart. Why is that? Because the victim wants the incident that hurt her never happened. The victim wants to restore the past, and hopes that by replying to the actor's actions, his past will recover.

This is clearly impossible. What has happened will not come back as before. Apparently that's what causes vengeance to be more cruel than deeds and even longer the process of acts perpetrated by the offender. This is because at any moment, revenge will not make the pain disappear because what he wants is the return of his past.
