Hey, look back! Big is seen in the distance

Hi, happy steemit people! In our city there is an amazing place. On one of the city squares stands an amazing building. This is St. Isaac's Cathedral.

Today it is one of the highest dome structures in the world. Its history began several centuries ago and its original version looked completely different. After a time, it was decided to rebuild the Cathedral so that it could match the ceremonial buildings of the center of St. Petersburg. A competition was announced for the best project and it was decided to approve the sketches of the young French architect Auguste Montferrand.

This construction lasted for forty years. A lot of effort, money and many different specialists were involved. But, if we consider that in those days the technology in the construction were undeveloped and there was no appropriate equipment and devices, when all the work on its construction was completed - the result exceeded all expectations. 43 rocks of valuable minerals were used in the construction. The huge dome was made of metal but its gilding took a hundred kilograms of pure gold.

The interior of the Cathedral - it is generally a separate topic and it is simply striking in its splendor. I during my stay here on Steemit showed some photos told here about it.

I even went to the top of the spiral staircase, to the colonnade of St. Isaac's Cathedral to show You a bird's-eye view of the city. Now it is an active Orthodox Church and at the same time a Museum-monument, open to all comers. But this is just my backstory...I have always admired this huge dome of the Cathedral, which looks especially beautiful and majestic in the bright rays of the sun.

We walked to the subway on a narrow street, returning from a walk. My friend called out to me: Hey, look back! Look!

I saw the dome of St. Isaac's Cathedral towering majestically over the roofs of the houses. I took this picture of this dome in the last rays of the evening sun and then I decided that I should definitely draw it.

I have a lot of thinking about what is for me the platform Steemit and our community. I've been here for 2.5 years and looking back, I understand how much I got from being here. This is my first experience of social networks, this is my first understanding of how to basically blog and create content, this is my initial experience with the camera. The communication that you can get in the community is really invaluable. This is a large number of people who are ready to give advice, teach, help, listen and just communicate despite the language barrier, nationality and other conventions.

I really appreciate all of you, my friends, not naming names in order not to forget anyone or offend my inattention. I am very grateful for your support. There are so many talented, bright and creative people on Steemit that it is impossible not to get infected. I'm infected.

You already are very good in your drawings my friend and all blessings to your proposed studies. I look forward to your paintings one day when you have become a professional artist.
This cathedral is simply stunning and it certainly took a mountain of work to build it. Very impressive.
Blessings!

Thanks. my good friend! To achieve this goal, I need many years,a lot of work and a lot of patience, but I am ready to go this way. Thanks for Your support, @papilloncharity

First off love your painting you have talent keep at it, and WOW that Cathedral is spectacular and has stood for so many years, amazing to think of all the supplies and 40 years of work that went into building it, but it shows with all the intricate details

this Cathedral survived even during the terrible blockade in the great Patriotic war. This huge Golden dome was painted over with gray paint, so as not to attract the attention of Nazi bombers with its Shine from above... in its deep cellars were hidden most of the valuable works of art (sculptures, statues), which could not be taken to the rear because of their large size. And now we see the chips and potholes on the columns of the Cathedral - as a memory of those terrible days. they are specially preserved for future generations... to all people remembered. Thanks,@tattoodjay

That is great that it survived the War, so much was damaged around the world due to war its always reassuring to learn of somehting that has even through so much and is still standing strong

That's a seriously impressive building! Thanks for giving the history of it too, and not just pictures. It's exciting that you are going to study art! You are already so talented. I have absolutely no skills when it comes to drawing or painting, and I am always in awe of people who do. Best of luck with your studies. I hope to see posts about your progress.

I am pleased to know that You liked this Cathedral with its history. I am always happy to show here some amazing sights of my city.
Thank you for your kind words and wishes,@goat-girlz, I'm not too sure that I have a talent for drawing. Rather, it is my great desire to do it professionally. Therefore, it is necessary to get a special education and have a lot of perseverance and diligence to this. Well, time will tell what I can do. :)

I have seen a few of your drawings and I think you have a lot of talent! I will be watching your posts for updates on your progress!
