RE: Murphy Strikes Again

in #life7 years ago (edited)

So sorry @makinstuff, I have been there too. Is this the main floor or the basement floor? Years ago my Daughter flushed a wash cloth down the toilet. That house had clay sewer pipe that would get cracked from tree roots. The basement backed up with six inches of septic tank water. Could someone have flushed something like this?
Airbnb guests????

Dang....yeah it's just a fact of homeownership :(. I recently had a guest with her dog stay here for a while. That may have played a big part. It's also been raining pretty non stop lately. Just tried some overnight drain cleaner. Gonna try and flush in the morning. Gonna attempt to use a snake on my cleanout in the crawlspace then call a plumber if none of that works out.

I like the snake idea, any babies stay at your place???? I’m just thinking disposable baby diapers????
I really hate plumbing, one November I had to dig up my septic and hang down into the tank to run a snake..... THE WASH CLOTH..... kids.........
Hopefully it will be a simple fix👍

Ah man....now that you mention it. Yes I had a small family here recently over Thanksgiving. It's the main floor It's a 2 bed 1 bath 1940's construction. It was an old barracks house. It's got a crawlspace. Solid construction. Man....that ain't no fun, I hope that's not the case. My main water line busted a few years back and spent a week repairing it myself. Plumbing isn't a lot of fun I'll figure it out. I'm stubborn and aways try to fix it myself until calling a professional.
