Korea vs Italy International Firework Festival Da Nang, Vietnam - Fire Above Fairytale Within
Hello dear friends, I hope you're doing well. Today, let me throw a little magic into your day by sharing one unforgettable night I had recently. A night full of lights, music, and moments that made my heart full of joy.
We’ve all seen fireworks before many times, for me, I always see fireworks on Tet holiday and other occasions. But what I experienced this time was on a whole new level. It wasn’t just fireworks. It was a show, a battle of beauty, a live performance in the sky.
Welcome to DIFF 2025, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, held every summer since 2008 right by the Han River. This year’s theme is “Da Nang- The New Rising Era.”
And lucky me, I got an invitation ticket, a proper seat. No more standing in the crowd like last year, squeezing between thousands trying to find a good to spot to watch the show. It doesn’t mean that being in the crowd was no fun. It is just a different experience.
I came on time and got a very good seat because I didn’t want to miss anything.
The night began with some lively opening performances and an introduction to the two competing teams: Korea and Italy.
Then the countdown started. Korea was first. They opened with a Korean song called “Fanfare”, creating a romantic and poetic vibe. The fireworks followed, blooming in with colorful shapes in the sky.
Then the energy changed. “Home Sweet Home” by G-Dragon started playing, the melody and fireworks became faster. It felt like a K-pop concert in the sky. And if you like Big Bang and G-Dragon, it’s a gift for you 😂
They ended their performance with a meaningful message through the song “Undefeated,” showing Da Nang’s strong spirit and dream to rise high.
That was Korea, and some break time before the Italy team to go. They performed an Italian song like an opera. I forgot what it was but it was very good and emotional.
Are you still following up? Stay tuned for the Italy team!
They started strong with a song called “Blood Sport.” The sky turned red, loud music, like a beating heart.
Then came “Aphelion”, adding layers of emotion. The fireworks getting even more and faster, and I couldn’t take my eyes off it. My heart was racing.
To slow down the vibe, Jazz music played, and golden lights fell from the sky like a waterfall. It was soft, smooth, and magical. To surprise us, they mixed in some familiar Vietnamese songs, fun and cheerful. Everyone smiled and danced along.
The grand ending was “Time to Say Goodbye’’ with many big fireballs covering the sky. It kept going big and overwhelming giant light balls.
Well this was the end but I still can’t go home yet, it was too beautiful. 40 mins of watching fireworks with color and music, it really made me feel like I was in a fairy tale world where light, sound, and emotion danced together just above my head.
I am sure I can't capture everything cause I was deep in enjoying it, nor use more words to express it but I hope you can feel it through my post and tell me what team's performance do you like?
Sending love from Da Nang, Viet Nam. All photos were taken with my old phone.
