Meanwhile, we have every opportunity to investigate and decide what we can avert and what we can better adapt to. So far, so good. If only there weren't that tiny possibility that some crazy ruler with nuclear weapons at his disposal might press the famous red button in a fit of rage. THAT is uncontrollable—unless ALL nuclear weapons worldwide were outlawed and destroyed. I consider that illusory. So the underlying fear remains—and as far as I'm concerned, the certainty.
