Welcome to my blog. I am happy to participate in this week's learning challenge and that is the making of tequenos which I have never make before though I had made something similar which is the fish pie.

I really appreciate our challenger for taking time to show us the step by step procedures of making tequenos.

Please follow along as I prepare my tequenos and do not forget to watch the video attached to this post.

Ingredients for the dough

The Ingredients

2 cup rising flour.
1 tablespoon of margarine.
1 tablespoon of sugar.
1 teaspoon of salt.
A small bottle of cold water.

*Filling:# I used Chicken for the filling Chicken

###Procedure:

  • First of all, I sieve the flour because I like sieving it while work with flour to remove any impurities.

  • I place the flour in a tray and added salt and sugar.

  • I added the butter and mix everything with my fingers until it forms a thick paste.

  • I added cold water little by little and knead it.

  • I did the kneading for 5 minutes, until the dough was well compacted.

  • I place the dough in a white nylon wrap and flatten it with my hand, and refrigerate 3 hours.

Assembling and frying

After bring out the dough from the refrigerator,
I used my rolling pin to flatten it so that it can be easier to cut.

After rolling it, I cut the dough into portion and the chicken into the sizes that I wanted to work on.

  • Here I proceed to wrapping the slighted dough on the chicken.

  • Once I finish wrapping all the tequenos with I proceed to frying them with plenty oil.

After the frying the tequenos, I drain it using my sieve and when it was cold off enough. I transfer it to the plate for serving

When you tried tequeños, what was your experience like? Did you like them? Explain your answer in detail.

I so much love the as a snack and also as appetiser. I so much them while dipping it with the pepper sauce.

I really enjoy the tequenos for its crispy outer cover and the filling.

I love the feeling I got while eating my tequenos.

What sauce would you serve with your tequeños?

Some people have different sauce for the tequenos but as for me because of the chicken I used for my tequenos, I used pepper 🌶️ sauce and it was a nice combo because it gave me that feeling of satisfaction and comfort.

Besides the filling you used for your tequeños, what other filling would you like to use or have you tried? Tell us.

Beside the filling I used for my tequenos I would like to try other filling like Salsa Verde since it s made of herbs I believe it will add freshness to my sauce and best for tequenos.

Subsequently I would like to use red sauce with slightly spicy flavour.
