SLC26-W3 | Cinnamon Rolls
Make your own cinnamon rolls, with or without topping (include ingredients, quantities and step by step instructions) with my recipe or any other of your choice.
Ingredients
500 grams of wheat flour
1/4 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of butter
1 egg
1 cup of warm water
1 tablespoon of yeast
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 teaspoon of salt
Fillings:
butter, sugar, cinnamon and chocolate chips
Procedure
Step 1:
In a clean, dried bowl, sieve in the 500 grams of flour and create a volcanic shape.
Add in the salt, sugar and yeast round the flour.
Then, at the centre of the flour, add in the baking powder, the butter, the egg, the vanilla essence and the warm water.
Step 2:
Mix everything together with your hand or spatula until a dough is formed.
Step 3:
Transfer the dough to a work surface and knead very well for about 7-10 minutes.
Step 4:
Let the dough rest in a well-covered bowl for 2 hours. This will enable the dough to rise or double in size.
Step 5:
After 2 hours of covering, dust some flour onto a work surface and transfer the already risen dough onto the floured surface.
Step 6:
Press out the gas and stretch out the dough into a rectangular shape.
Step 7:
On the already stretched-out dough, spread in the butter.
Then, sprinkle in some sugar, cinnamon and chocolate chips according to your taste.
Step 8:
Roll the dough with all the fillings,
cut it into 8 equal pieces and place them on a baking pan.
Step 9:
Then, cover it again
and let it rest for 30 minutes. After the time elapses, the dough will have risen a bit.
Step 10:
Transfer the dough to a preheated oven
and bake at 200°C for about 20 to 25 minutes. Once the dough is ready, allow it to cool a bit before adding any toppings of your choice or serve without any toppings.

I had a very good experience when I tried this cinnamon roll. The process was similar to making regular bread. But getting to the part of fillings, I was amazed at the outcome. The aroma that filled my kitchen was heavenly. I definitely love them and would love to make them again.

In this recipe, I wouldn't change cinnamon for any other ingredients. The cinnamon gives it that cinnamon in the roll.
