SLC26-W4 | Hamburger bun
Hello everyone!
Welcome to week4 of season 26 learning challenge, here Is the fourth week of exploring the world of dough experimenting with different flavors and ingredients.
1 - Make your own hamburger buns, they can be potato, sweet potato or pumpkin (include ingredients, quantities and step by step) with my recipe or any other of your preference.
Ingredients
• mashed sweet potato | 1 medium size |
---|---|
• all purpose flour | 1 cup |
• sugar | 4 teaspoon |
• salt | ½ teaspoon |
• yeast | 15 grams |
• margarine | 30 grams |
• Powdered milk | 30 grams |
• Egg | 1 |
• vanilla essence | 5 grams |
After I have allowed it rest for a long while as seen in the picture it has risen due to the yeast in it, I started cutting and molding into smaller sizes placed on my local oven and baked for 30 minutes.
Final results with a written note that includes name, date and tag
2 - When tasting the breads, what was your experience like? Did you like them? Explain your answer in detail.
I was waiting for the bun with so mush anticipation, so the first bite i took I dint hurry to chew instead I ate it slowing feeling the texture, the taste and flavor, actually I did so because this was not the first time i have tasted a hamburger bun but it was actually the first I have tasted the one made it was a wonderful experience I liked it and the difference wasn't mush.
3 - In your opinion, what should a hamburger have to be perfect?
I believe that a perfect hamburger should not be tough or cottony it should be solf and fluffy with a tight but soft crumb also a perfect hamburger should have a golden colour.
