RE: Marvel's Inhumans Continues To Be Really Bad 5 Episodes In
The "royal family" protagonists on this show are really unlikable. They apparently have been ruling over an unjust and repressive society and are only now, five episodes into the show, beginning to realize that. And they have caused a lot of trouble for the earth people they have run into, even though these people seem to be have been forced by the plot to be aggressively helpful to the Inhumans. I don't have any background from the comics but from the show it's hard to understand why the show is about them, they're not very heroic, they're not cool anti-heroes, and they're not engaged in any interesting drama.
Everything you said is true. Maximus almost really does look like the good guy of the show, who they're trying too hard to paint as the bad guy. When, as you said, the Royal Family is ruling over a Caste System? That isn't cool --- rather than Attilan being a sanctuary away from Humanity and the dangers we present - it sounds more like a prison ---- it's really bad. The mini-drama they've tried to create on earth has been bad. The scientist lady does not fit the story at all - nor did the Keanu Reeves look a like doctor. The people chasing the family come off as misfits, rather than people with extraordinary abilities. It's just bad all the way around. I'm sorry as a fan of Marvel, that they gave us all this crap to watch.
