What a bad darkness indeed! This was a nice simple story. I really like how you compared winter to the melancholy that comes with longing. Interspersing it with the children playing really highlighted the emotion that Ria must've been going through. I imagine her cracking a smile upon hearing that student exclaim the title. Great work!
