DOES MONEY BUY HAPPINESS ?
There are different ways and different things that brings happiness to people. Money is one of them, but does it really bring everyone happiness? To some extend I can say that I have seen the smile that comes with having money and I have also seen the sadness that comes with being broke. Do you know that money has a deciding power over your emotions? At time's the way you feel and interact with people surrounding you, doing what you want is also related to money...
Does money bring happiness? From one perspective, yes it does but from the other perspective, no it doesn't. Let me give you my reasons. Firstly, when you are rich and have enough money to buy whatever you want, you tend to smile alot, like real smile because you have that freedom to do anything. You pay your bills, go on vacations, and for some people they engage in charity works.
The second perspective as to why money can't buy happiness is that, there are things that money can't buy at all which are life and good health. Since creation, there hasn't been any rich and wealthy person that was able to buy immortality with money because it's not just possible. No matter how wealthy you are, extending your life by thousands of years is an impossible feat to achieve.
One of the most sought after commodity (permit me to use that word) by wealthy folks is good health. You can have alot of money at your disposal to do what you want, but without a healthy body you can't enjoy your wealth. Take for example Cancer, this is one of the most deadliest and life threatening sickness ever to exist (I stand to be corrected), but no matter how scientists have researched and are still researching, there haven't been any latest discoveries about the cure
You can't deny the fact that we all work to earn money in other to solve our problems, but not everybody needs money to be happy. There is a kind of wealth that somebody will have that will make them have sleepless night, because of the fear of insecurity.
There is a word I came across when reading a book one day and since then the words kinda stuck with, the book was about sacrifices and risks taken when investments come knocking. He said "I have been a rich man and I have been a poor man, but I choose rich every time" and that was him motivating his colleagues to put more effort in other to earn more money.
There are few Individuals that are contented with the way they are, money or no money they live a life of simplicity. They derive joy from just being around their family and love one's and to them, that is true happiness.
Is money your main source of happiness? Can money buy happiness for you? There are diverse reasons for happiness, what makes you happy?
