I know I'm not terribly hip and all that, so I hesitate to ask: aren't those Suzuki people supposed to play and sing in the same key every now and again? Or am I being terribly old-fashioned?
I am no sure that playing in the same key is a priority for them? Atonality has been around for quite some time so I wouldn't feel old-fashioned. Insisting on classic harmonies might just be hip.
I never could stand atonal music, I only like it in small doses, like the odd dissonant here and there. Long stretches of atonal music hurt 8-).
I read there are some chords that were considered dissonant a few centuries ago, but not anymore. That surprised me.
It was Wagner who did it.
