WHAT PAIN DO YOU WANT IN YOUR LIFE.
Every individual in this world wants to live the good life, have the best relationship that will lead to a happy family, financially free and wants to be a celebrity.
If people are called upon to ask, what they need out of life, you Will discover that the core needs of these people are more or less similar in nature.
But there is a more exciting question I believe have never crossed your mind before, which is, "what pain do you want in your life ? "

To be happy in live, it requires struggle. The positive experience of life is the side effects of handling the negative experience successfully. You can try to avoid negative experience but it comes back to haunt you later in life. An illustration of this, is a student who cheats to pass his exams in school and think he has escaped. One way or another, those exams he passed by cheating or bribing comes back to haunt him later in his work place and he has to dance to the tune of the music.
Therefore, the quality of your life can't be measured by your positive experience but the quality of your negative experience. And been able to handle your negative experience is the same as dealing with life.
A lot of people want to enjoy the benefits of life but not willing to bare the cost.
If you crave for a model shape and the muscular body you desire, you have to be ready to sweat, learn to appreciate the pains and physical stress that comes along with multiple hours been spent in the gym house except you love the idea of starving yourself from your favorite dish or eating one spoonful of food all in the name of checking your weight or keeping fit.
People want to be successful in life, financially independent and have dreams of one day starting up a multi national business. But you don't end up been a successful entrepreneur by merely wishing it, you must learn to appreciate the repeated failures, financial risk, late night and uncertainties.
If at a time in your life, you desire something and years after years, yet you are not even close to achieving it, then what you so desire is merely a Fantasy. Maybe, what you actually want isn't what you want at all.
Let me site an example, using myself.

Back when I was much younger, I have always fantasize to be like Michael Jackson. I love the fact that when he sings or steps on the stage a lot of people faint for him. All this increased my desires to be a musician. Despite all these daydreaming, the reality wasn't forthcoming. It took me time to realize that I was only in love with the fame of Michael Jackson but wasn't in love with the process of becoming famous and for that reason, I failed. Come to think of it, i didnt even try hard enough to even fail it because I hardly tried at all. I didnt want to go through the stress of writing music, going to the studio all the time to make beats for my music, scared of going for auditions or talent hunt because of stage fright and a whole bunch of reasons.
To be a star in the entertainment industry was like climbing a high mountain . It was later in life that I realize that I didn't love to climb, I only love imagining been a Star.
A lot of people might say I'm a quitter or wasn't bold enough to pursue my dreams. But the truth was that, I was only deceiving myself. I thought I wanted to be like Michael Jackson but it turned out that I never wanted it.
I only desired the fame but not the struggle. I loved the result but not the process and life doesn't work that way. Whatever you become in life is the outcome of your sweat.
This is the basic commandment of life: our struggles determine our status. So choose how you wish to suffer wisely.
Cheers
The true character of an individual is measured not in how they are when everything is going well, it's how they reacted with the weight of the world on their shoulders :)
My dear indeed, our struggles determine our status in life but we are so afraid of the pain that comes with being successful. Either ways, one cannot do without pains. There is even pain in not trying at all. Kudos.
Thanks MA..
well said @sbamsoneau, I agree, the struggle is directly proprtional to the gain, and he what is life without a little adversity. It would be boring, easy, and uneventful.
Cheers!
