Fanny bullock workman,one of the great mountaineers

Fanny Bullock Workman, one of the great mountaineers of the early 20th century -- and one of the very few female mountaineers of her era. She summited peaks above 23,000 feet in the Himalayas, climbing her last 23,000-footer in 1906 at the age of 47.
