Many movies with good storylines and great perspective are underrated due to lack of marketing strategies or budgets and also the characters used. I have come across some movies that I feel are lesser-known;

Question 1: Mention 5 lesser-known or underrated movie you have seen before

The Whirlwind: This is a political thriller movie showing on Netflix that was produced in 2024.
This movie is about a prime minister who attempted to assassinate a corrupt president which lead to a whirlwind power between prime minister and his deputy.

Baby Farm: This is a Nigerian drama series on Netflix produced in 2025. The storyline is about a pregnant lady who accepts help from charity organization only to find herself trapped after discovering that she's a prisoner and the organization is involve in newborn baby trafficking.

Duplicity: This is a mystery thriller movie produced in 2025 ( Amazon prime film). The storyline is about a young lady named Marley who is high powered attorney. She is tasked with uncovering the hidden secret and truth behind the murder of her best friend's husband.

Shadow Hunters: This is an American supernatural series showing on Netflix produced in 2016. It is a story about a teenager (Clary) who discovered her magical powers then try to seek help from other shadow hunters to recover her lost memories and also to find her mother who was kidnapped by her father the head of circle group.

G20: This is also 2025 American action thriller movie. President Danielle Sutton becomes the first target during G20 summit when terrorists attack the event which leads the president to using her military experience to fight for her people.

Question 2: Discuss your reasons for saying these movies you have mentioned are lesser known or underrated movies

There are many reasons why movies are said to be "underrated". For the five listed above;

• Marketing strategies that hinders the movie from reaching the audience and be most talked about.
• Overshadowed by bigger cast/ characters. When movie is released during the same period when the most popular actors releases theirs, the movie might be overlooked.
• Lack of effort during promotion
• Lack of recommendation is another way for a movie to be lesser known.
• Accessibility to where audience can watch

Question 3: What do you think can be done to make these movies better known or valued more

• Pay more influencers to promote the movie.
• Use good marketing strategies and budget
• Make the movie easily accessible to many viewers.
• Make use of online platforms like social medias for engagement.
