RE: Attention: MTG - Magic The Gathering Card Collectors!

in #mtg7 years ago (edited)

The biggest Magic The Gathering fan I've come across on steemit would have to be @stefanonsense. I know he likes to go down to the local shop during events and get new cards and enjoy tournaments. No clue what he is in the market for if anything these days.

I’ve come across a couple of people in the gaming community I just don’t quit recall any other names off top of my head regarding this. Most just talk about it from a nostalgia stand point these days.

Sort:

It's a niche market and even more so once you start talking about old cards. From the looks of it I probably won't take the time to list them until there is a better way to do so. Need to start looking into a way to make my own platform for selling goods for steem. Think there are plenty of people that would benefit from it and it would legitimize steem as a currency vs a store of value.

I’ve seen people use #steembay I’m not quite sure what else is out there if anything.

Just in the gaming genre alone here once people have a following that big enough and worth there time in creating and selling t-shirts or other things. They are going need an actual store front. I’m sure some of the really big communities as well would love to have an easy way of selling stuff like that as well. I’ve some have t-shirts no idea how they sell them or if they just give them out.

I doubt more traditional routes for something like are into cryptocurrency.

With so many creative people on that platform I would hope the handcrafted section would be rather big.

You have hit on so many of the things I think would sell well here. The key is the platform just makes it complicated for creating a good selling method. Need a ebay or etsy like storefront for each seller with the ability to add/remove/edit listings ongoing without needing to create new posts to get the content in front of people.

Have some thoughts on this and will be playing around with it over the winter to see what I can design.

Hey @enjar, thanks for tagging me in this. @thedarkhorse While I do love playing MtG and consider myself a collector I'm not in the financial position to collect the very expensive cards. I'm interested in collecting entire old sets because I like the art, a lot, but I'm not purchasing cards as investments.

Don't have any complete sets currently, but will keep this in mind for sure.
