RE: Alternative Weekend: Focus on ‘Steven Wilson'

in #music6 years ago

You just knew I would love this :) Some real classics there. Routine is an emotional one. I saw him do it with a recording of Ninet on the first gig of the Hand Cannot Erase tour (Cambridge Corn Exchange, front row!) and with her singing the whole thing at the Albert Hall. Gets me every time.

I've performed a couple of his songs at the pub. Lazarus is a good one and I've tried Pariah too. Need to learn some more. What I need is a good listening session to go through them all. This reminds me that I don't think I've watched all the DVD/BluRay that came with the various albums. Never enough time.

Routine still has me bubbling up.., what can I say.. I'm the type that can get got at by certain types of music emotionally.., there are a few like this.

Wonder if he's got some new stuff in the bag? I hope so. Did you have a female vocalist for your Pariah?

He always seems to be working, but then he does a lot of production and re-mastering for others. I'm sure he has plans.

I've only done Pariah on my own so far.
