We're all different and some people are compelled to make art. In some cases this seems linked to a personality that also gets into addiction. Maybe that's a way to cope with the pressure that came brings. There's sick a history of musicians dying young, but then Keith Richards survives. I wonder if others would be around if they had had better support from those around them.
I think some of them would be indeed. Look at the DJ Avicii, in his documentary you see only his manager worying about the gigs and the money involved. I think a good manager or agency or whatever do things in interest of the artist ,eventually it brings them the same but without a person being suffering from it or worse dying. The Stones,there some class apart , stillrocking and surviving .... if you asked me 20 years ago,I wouldnt have predicted it :) .. same for Iron Maiden..
