Mantis - Show Us Your California

Hi friends,

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @socalsteemit where we share an aspect of our California.

There is a plethora of animals, plants and bugs in So Cal as the weather is mild and nice. You never know what you will run into and we ran into an interesting one the other day in our backyard… check it out:

This Carolina Mantis looked exactly like a brown leaf! Such great camouflage!

So glad we have technology to help us identify species of plants and animals with the click of a button. Otherwise, it would take ages to look through different encyclopedias or googling trying to find the right picture!
