New Pet - Show Us Your California

in #mycalifornialast month

Hi friends,

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @socalsteemit where we share an aspect of our California.

Living in So Cal, there is an abundance of wildlife that also enjoys the mild climate. With wildlife also comes annoying things like flies.

A fly sneaks in to our house once or twice a week. Whenever one does, I catch it in a small net and feed it to my new pet - a spider hanging out near the backyard:

According to AI lookup, the species is Steatoda Nobilis, also known as the noble false widow - a bite would resemble a bee sting.

The spider seems to enjoy the snacks so I will keep feeding it when opportunities arise :)

Thanks for coming by and checking out a piece of my California.

Brian

Okay, feed the spiders, but stay away. It's nice to do good deeds, but safety first. I wish you a happy new week.

Flies are very annoying, in fact at home we fumigate every 3 months

Congratulations, your post won 2nd prize in this weeks Show us Your California contest!!
