RE: Striped Bass (Marone saxatilis) Mount!
That was a nice gift from your friend, especially knowing how much you love and respect these fish. I hope you are able to get it restored so that it can be fully appreciated for many more years to come. No reason it can't be handed down to the next generation of striped bass fishermen. Great post! Very informative. Each time I read one of these posts I want more and more to catch one! :)
Also, I really like your idea of including the bit about the @myhuntingfishing blog and the #myhuntingfishing tag at the bottom of your posts. Thank you! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!!! I do intend to pass it on in the future, but, as odd as it may sound even if I have kids they would not be at default to get it. All I do know is that who I give it to next will be someone who enjoys fishing as much as myself. I did forget to mention in the post this friend of mine is an older neighbor who doesn't fish much at all anymore. knowing he likes fish I gave him some boneless steaks from a striper I had caught. The very next week he handed me the mount and said "My wife told me I have to get rid of this. . . but seriously, you seem like you would appreciate this little token of my past". He was right, and now hes always first in line whenever I'm giving away meat.
