The Mystery Of Dog Suicide Bridge in Scotland
Have you ever heard of the Overtoun Bridge in Scotland? Well, this bridge has a peculiar claim to fame: many dogs have apparently thrown themselves off it.
There is a 19th century castle called Overtoun House in Glasgow. In the 1950s, people started calling this bridge "Death Bridge". The dogs began to jump from the bridge to death. Over the last 60 years, after the jump, more dogs have died. Of course, there were dogs that survived after suicidal jumps.
Can the animals make a suicide?
Anyone with a dog can probably say no. It seems impossible for a dog to plan his own death in advance.
I consider that they seek a quiet place to spend their last moments closing to death in a peaceful way. For this reason, they may prefer to jump from bridge to death. A strong animal instinct may trigger this condition.
