Beautiful root system formed, that will ensure these slips will grow strong and healthy.
A little bit of bad news
Shortly after last week's update I had to scrap the other sweet potato. Something went wrong with it, it had formed a couple roots but the roots stopped growing and some actually died off. The slips were not getting any water and were drying out.
My only choice was to remove the existing slips and place them directly into water. I cut into the sweet potato to look inside and there was indeed rot.
Fortunately the slips were not dead and immediately started to grow their own roots.
More good news
Not only is the remaining sweet potato thriving, but there appears to be even more slips forming. Last I counted there were a possible 15 slips! Meaning 15 sweet potato plants from one sweet potato!
That's way more slips than I got last year, and I had like 3 or 4 sweet potatoes on the go, so this is one impressive sweet potato! A purple one at that!

Doing your own sweet potato slips is the way to go!
Looks awesome, you are a few weeks ahead of my grow.
Thanks! I'm actually behind with a lot of my other crops due to the extended winter lol
But I've got like 9 or so weeks before I will plants this slips.
