RE: Purple Tree Collards - Day 232 - Haiku - On the Joys of Tree Collards, Walking Stick Cabbage and More!
I love the sounds of this walking stick cabbage! We love cabbage in our household (we cook a lot of Korean food). Do you know, is it perennial?
We are trying to focus on perennials in our gardens, but these sound like they would be hardy and productive enough to be worth growing even if they are annuals.
Thanks! Great read!

The purple tree collards are perennial, though it's still up in the air whether they will survive on our place long term, but I have enough microclimates that I'm pretty sure I can find a place or two that will make them happy.
The walking cabbage seems to have always been treated as an annual, so I'm not sure if it will overwinter or not, but I'll try next season, both in the ground outside and inside in milder conditions.
