The Juice That Saved My Throat
I’ll be honest — I used to think sore throats were just something you had to ride out with endless cups of tea. That was until one particularly scratchy winter week when even swallowing water felt like sandpaper. Out of desperation, I started experimenting with juices. Some were a blessing. Some… well, let’s just say they didn’t help.
That’s when I stumbled across an article from Ask Ayurveda that talked about juices for throat pain and it completely changed the way I approached recovery:

What worked for me
Aloe vera with amla and tulsi became my go-to. Smooth, cool, and gentle on the throat. Ginger with honey was a close second — warm and instantly soothing, like wrapping my throat in a blanket. Watermelon juice was surprisingly refreshing and didn’t sting at all. Pomegranate gave me that antioxidant kick, and tart cherry juice actually seemed to help me sleep better when I was sick.
What I’d avoid next time
Straight citrus juice. I thought orange juice would help because of the vitamin C, but the acidity was like pouring lemon juice on a paper cut. I learned to dilute it heavily or skip it altogether when my throat’s in trouble. Also, anything ice-cold seemed to trigger more discomfort — I now stick with room temperature or warm drinks.
