Tree plantation is gradually disappearing from our habits. Trees are constantly intertwined with our lives. They provide us with fruits, leaves, wood, and many other things. Trees absorb harmful gases, like carbon dioxide, from the earth and release oxygen into the air, which is essential for the survival of humanity and all animals and birds. Oxygen is invaluable for every human and living being; without oxygen, no creature, including humans, can survive.

Here, the market is primarily held on Mondays, where various seedlings, plants, and seeds of fruits and vegetables are available. Therefore, I couldn't plan to plant any special trees. However, my mom brought two colocasia seedlings today, and there were two sweet potatoes at home with small leaves emerging. I thought of planting the colocasia and sweet potatoes in the little space we have on the roof.

I have cut the sweet potatoes into pieces with a knife for planting in the parts where the sprouts have emerged.

I went up to the roof with the seedlings, took a knife for digging the soil, and brought a pot filled with water.

I don't have much prior experience with planting trees, but planting trees is one of my hobbies. However, due to the lack of sufficient space at home, I don't plant many trees. Anyway, I dug the soil with this trowel. I was very scared while digging because I find earthworms very frightening; I've been afraid of that creature since childhood. Then, as I gradually got used to digging the soil, I sprinkled some water in it.

This way I have completed my tree planting work today.I have planted seedlings in this corner of the rooftop because this particular spot has quite good soil, and I consider this quality soil to be quite good. Here, any seedling planted grows easily, and the seedlings remain healthy and vigorous. Additionally, this corner of the rooftop receives sunlight as well as shade. Considering all these factors, I had chosen this spot.

Tree planting is an important issue in the present time. The significance of tree planting is immense for maintaining environmental balance, combating climate change, and improving the quality of human life. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and provide oxygen, which improves air quality. Additionally, trees prevent soil erosion, help in preventing landslides and floods, and play a crucial role in biodiversity preservation. The wood, fruits, and other materials obtained from trees can be sold for economic benefits. Moreover, tree planting plays an important role in the tourism industry as well.

A quote about tree plantation that I really like is:

"Learn character from the tree, learn values from the roots, and learn change from the leaves."
