NPR article: After Calf's Death, Orca Mother Carries It For Days In 'Tragic Tour Of Grief'

The salmon-eating Puget Sound orcas have been having trouble with bearing calves for the past three years. The calf that was recently born to one whale died a half hour later, and even into this week, the mother has been seen pushing her deceased offspring for miles around.
