Peixe opah: o único com sangue quente conhecido
Eu estava pensando comigo mesmo quando de repente me surgiu uma dúvida: existem peixes de sangue quente? Resolvi pesquisar e achei algo bem interessante e resolvi compartilhar com vocês.
Vejam como a natureza é realmente algo incrível e digno de admiração profunda nossa. Foi descoberto a cerca de 3 anos atrás o primeiro peixe de sangue quente do mundo. Porque até então apenas mamíferos e aves eram conhecidos por serem endotérmicos.
Trata-se do peixe opah que tira proveito do sangue quente pra poder viver em águas frias e profundas.
Ter sangue quente possui uma série de vantagens e desvantagens. A principal vantagem é aumentar o metabolismo do corpo, permitindo à espécie se tronar mais ágil e ter reações mais rápidas. Isso pode ser bastante útil por exemplo na hora de caçar o alimento, ou fugir dos predadores.
Mas também tem desvantagens, e a mais óbvia delas é o consumo de energia pelo corpo. Manter o corpo sempre aquecido acima da temperatura ambiente gasta bastante energia e exige que essas espécies se alimentem mais frequentemente. Então a agilidade maior na hora de procurar alimento tem que compensar o consumo mais elevado de energia gasta só pra manter o sangue sempre aquecido.
O fato de existir um peixe de sangue quente também é algo bastante curioso por ser um exemplo clássico de evolução convergente. Isso acontece quando duas espécies evoluem por caminhos distintos mas acabam por chegar a características evolutivas parecidas. Ou seja, esse peixe evoluiu pra ter o mesmo sangue quente dos mamíferos e aves, que por sua vez evoluíram de peixes de sangue frio.
Outro exemplo bem interessante de evolução convergente são as diferentes asas existentes no mundo animal. Tanto as asas dos insetos, quanto a das aves e a dos morcegos servem pra basicamente a mesma coisa e funcionam de maneira bem parecida. Porém evoluíram por caminhos independentes.
