Washing A Fleece To Spin!

I got my hands on a fleece to spin wool! I have some hand carders already but the fleece needed a good wash.

I have no idea if a fleece if meant to look like this after 1st wash. As it's the first time I've ever done it!

I will have to spin by hand unless I find a local spinner.

I put the fleece in the bath and showered it removing the poo I add some washing Powder (eco friendly) and kept swishing and squshing as much as I could.

Till the water ran a slightly brown.

I have left to dry a bit before wash number 2.

Would welcome any feedback from any fleece prepares or spinners on here =D
