Needlework Monday
Hello Steemit,
I was very happy yesterday to have an excuse to sit down and play with my needle. I bought this little craft kit one Saturday while I was window shopping downtown, waiting for my ballerina to finish her practice.
The stuffing was missing so I had to make do with some old yarn. Also, I was supposed to glue some of the pieces on, but once it got time to get the glue (a real task when there are three occupied kids around you, getting up to heat up the glue gun surely disturbs them), it seemed easier to just stitch them in place than. I could hear my mom in the back of my mind telling me that you stitch the accents FIRST and then you make the doll.
But no.
I made the doll first, and then figured how to add the attachments in, which is why they look ... a little unfinished. Its ok. I LIKE it that way.
The doll with the blanket sticking was promptly eaten up by my kids and currently she is hanging on my curtains. Maybe i'll put her away soon and use her as a Christmas Tree decoration. I'll add a ribbon to her back or something.
Thanks for visiting my blog today.
I LOVE your comments.
Please check out my Children's Book Give-Away. Im building Children's Libraries and would love to hear your opinion about the "best way" to do so.
That's great! It is convenient when you buy a set and it has everything you need. No need to buy thread and so on. I like the result )
Thank you and thanks for stopping by ❤️❤️
Cute! I think the visible stitching adds to her charm. :)
This is lovely, but I think you should rescue her for christmas!
I really like your cover photo!! Thank you so much for adding us on there! 😊 You did a good job on your felt project. It turned out really cute. I like how you got creative and added yarn for the stuffing!
I need to get over there and check out these books! 😉
