RE: #NeedleworkMonday: Of Alterations and Upcycling

I agree!! I've hemmed jeans for my daughter before, out of necessity, and it's such a great skill to have! I chuckled at "now what can I do with the cut pieces of the jeans" because I never ever throw away pieces like that. They'll come in handy for something, someday :)))

Hehe ya ya! And they are kept in our little (or big) bucket of treasured fabrics, waiting to be turned into something 😋 (sometimes they wait quite a long while in there and still waiting to be turned into something) 😅. The thing that really pushed me to do this myself was when the place where I sent to alter my jeans (3 pairs), I specifically told them to keep the extra pieces for me because there was a lot left (a few inches from each pair) and then guess what, when I picked up my jeans, they said they have thrown the extra pieces away!!! 😡 and I couldn't tell if they were lying or not but that really motivated me to pick up sewing.

All my fabric scraps are still waiting to be turned into something, and yet the pile continues to grow😂 That's too bad that the alteration place didn't keep those extra pieces for you!
