RE: #needleworkmonday | Handmade Wardrobe - Summer Edit
Good luck with your sewing! I love the fabric you chose. Will that be for the skirt?
I wanted an adjustable dress form for a long time, but couldn't afford one. A friend found a non-adjustable one at a garage sale for me and I tried that, but ended up almost never using it because I couldn't size with it (and it had some 1950s Barbie doll shape, lol). So yeah, I used it as a prop for Etsy photos and ultimately gave it away. 😅 An adjustable one might be truly useful!
The fabric is gorgeous, isn't it? I loved it as soon as I saw it. I'm thinking about a little suit - the panelled skirt and the cropped top (though with 3/4 sleeves), they could be worn together for a wedding I'm going to this summer, or as separates.
I'm hoping the dress form will help me with designing, not absolutely sure, though, as we come in a multitude of different proportions and these only have the 12 adjustments :) The local retailer says they have a huge stock of dress forms, so I might go for an afternoon and try them all out before making a decision.
Ooh, nice that you can try before you buy!
