Introduction

Dean's Trade Center Peshawar is one of the largest and most prominent shopping malls and a renowned commercial complex of the city. It is located in Saddar area opposite the State Bank of Pakistan in Peshawar Cantonment Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The center is a multi-floor complex. The building itself is expansive with a total built-up area of about 1.8 million square feet across multiple floors. It has two basements and also contains a large parking area.

Shopping As Well As Business Center

There are about 3,500 shops in this complex. It occupies a strategic and crowded commercial area which makes it a popular place for daily shopping for local buyers as well as visitors came from other areas. Different floors have various business categories. one floor is basically dedicated to Clothing, Boutiques, Bridal suits, jewelry items, electronics, room decoration items, Bedding, blankets & quiltings, toys, and video games. There are a some specific commercial and business offices, banks and ATMs. It has also the office of international money exchange office. It also contains Residential Flats that is opposite to State Bank building.

Dean's Trade Center also offers an amazing playland area which includes jumping castle, slides and revolving “Honey Bee” shaped marry go round for kids. Kids can enjoy driving cars.

Trade Center has the facility of Stairs, Elevator as well as Escalators. There is a neat and clean Food Corner on its Ground Floor which offers fresh fast food, beverges, munchies and soda drinks.


History

Dean’s Hotel Peshawar was a historical and legendary building that was built in 1913 during the British colonial era. It occupied a wide area of 7.21 acres with extending lawns and symbolized architectural elegance from the Victorian period. The hotel was located near the railway station in Peshawar Cantonment and was considered the leading hotel in the city upto 20th century. Dean’s Hotel had a great historical legacy having hosted many celberities over the years including claims of visits by Rudyard Kipling, Winston Churchill during his time as a young soldier and journalist Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and King Nadir Shah of Afghanistan in 1929. The hotel was known for its grand ballroom, antique chandeliers, varnished wooden floors, embossed mirrors, and a piano made in Berlin in 1897. It reflects its colonial heritage .The hotel was a place that combined the social and political history of Peshawar. The hotel remains a memory and symbol of the glorious past of Peshawar’s history. The Legendary Dean’s Hotel has been shifted from the colonial heritage to one of the largest shopping and commercial complexes in Peshawar that is known Dean’s Trade Center.

Its central location near key city places like the Civil Secretariat, Edwardes College, Khyber Market, and the Army Stadium further adds to its accessibility and importance.
