Achievement 6 – Understanding Voting & Curation on Steemit

in Newcomers' Community4 days ago (edited)

Hello Steemit family! 👋

This is @[IsmailAfridi], and I have successfully completed my first five achievements in the Newcomers’ Community. Now I am here with my Achievement 6, where I will explain my understanding of Voting and Curation on the Steemit platform and demonstrate how I have applied it.

What is Voting ?

Voting is the way community members support or evaluate posts and comments.

Upvotes increase the author’s reward, while downvotes reduce it.

The strength of each vote depends on the Steem Power (SP) of the voter.

Voting is not just about rewards, but also a way to show appreciation and encouragement for valuable content.

What is Curation?

Curation means discovering and voting on good quality content.

Curators earn a share of the post’s reward if they vote within 7 days of publication.

Early voting on a quality post can lead to higher curation rewards.

It helps maintain the Proof of Brain (PoB) system by rewarding content based on community judgment.

Proof of Brain (PoB)

Steemit is built on the principle of Proof of Brain.

The value of content is decided by the collective intelligence of the community through voting.

This system ensures that original, creative, and useful content is rewarded fairly.

My Practical Experience

Here are some examples of my voting and curation activities:

Conclusion

Through this achievement, I have learned the importance of voting and curation on Steemit.

Voting supports authors and keeps the community active.

Curation encourages quality content and also rewards curators.

I will continue to use my votes wisely to support quality authors and engage in curation to contribute positively to the Steemit ecosystem.

Thank you for reviewing my Achievement 6! 🙏
