Hello, Steemit Community! I have a question for you all. (What are your thoughts on a data compensation platform?)

Hello, Steemit community!

I’m a developer who has been deep in the world of Bitcoin and blockchain for a long time. Recently, I’ve been focused on the value of data and am in the process of building a new platform. I was genuinely shocked to learn that an amazing platform like Steemit, which directly rewards content creators, has been running for so long with such a vibrant community. I wish I had known about it sooner, but it also gives me confidence that I’m on the right track. That’s why I’m writing this post.

The core problem I’m trying to solve is that our data is incredibly undervalued.

Have you seen the news about a data-labeling company called 'ScaleAI' signing a $2 billion deal with Meta (formerly Facebook) to supply AI training data? Giant corporations take the precious photos and posts we share on social media, often without permission, and use them to train their AI. But what do we, the creators of that data, get in return? I found this unfair reality deeply frustrating.

That’s why I'm building a platform where data creators receive fair compensation. Just as Steemit rewards good content, my platform is designed to reward high-quality data.

For example, let's say an AI developer needs 1,000 high-quality photos of a "Korean Hanbok."

A community (or "mission") for "Hanbok Photos" is created on our platform.

Users who join this community upload their high-quality Hanbok photos (their data).

Other users collectively verify the quality of the data by upvoting or downvoting the submitted photos.

Data that receives a certain number of upvotes is marked as 'Approved,' and the contributor who uploaded it receives a fair reward in the form of a crypto token.

This entire process would happen within a community feed, similar to what you see on social media platforms like Steemit.

And here are my questions for the Steemit community!

As experienced members of a content-reward ecosystem, your wisdom and insights would be incredibly helpful.

On the Reward System: If you were to be rewarded for your 'photo' data, what would feel like the fairest system? Besides a simple reward based on the number of upvotes, do you think there should be additional rewards for things like rarity (e.g., a hard-to-find vintage photo) or professionalism (e.g., a high-resolution studio shot)?

On Community Governance: What are your thoughts on using community votes to determine data quality? Do you have any good ideas to prevent abusive behavior, where a small group might maliciously downvote good data or inflate the value of bad data? (e.g., reputation systems, weighting votes based on contribution history, etc.)

On Motivation to Participate: What is your biggest motivation for consistently posting on Steemit? Beyond the financial rewards, do you think non-monetary factors like the honor or sense of accomplishment from knowing your contributions are directly advancing AI technology could be a significant motivator?

If you have any thoughts on what is most critical for this kind of platform to succeed, please feel free to share. Every single comment will be a valuable asset in helping me build a better ecosystem.

Thank you for reading this long post!

It looks as if no one will answer you. It's no surprise to me. The newcomers community isn't the place to ask Steemians what they expect (which I did many times through a weekly contest).

If you know how Steemit started, read the white paper (PoB) than you know what the idea is of this platform.

I go for creativity (writers, artists) and try to stimulate (or help) them. My stimulation? Happy people and yes, I do need rewards too since I host and sponsor many contest and Steemians for many years.

Communities can not vote unless the founder has plenty of SP or all members will delegate their SP. A few communities work that way (with or without dictatorship). Since most Steemians post in different communities, it's impossible to delegate to all of them. I never ask the members of my communities to delegate.

Rewards
It's great but I also notice that good, creative isn't rewarded, the same counts for for members of certain countries, whilst others are always rewarded (out of pity , bought or?).

Since you are testing what already exists (for many years) the question arises what will make you succeed where others "failed" or many struggle?

I will resteem your post and let's see if you receive replies.

I wish you a creative week/end.
