Ruffled Up.
Took this shot at about the third day after hurricane Maria decided to hit the island (when it was finally somewhat safe to see what was left of the town). This became a common scene among homes, over and over.
Hurricane Maria left beautiful homes looking like something found in third world countries. This is not the 'rich port' Columbus and his crew once fell in love with.
My new photographs will depict a new look into the island of Puerto Rico. They will depict an insider's view. An island that looks surreal, not just to me but to everyone that woke up to a new scenery --- an entirely new, bizarre, looking island and to many ---home.

I mean't to leave a tip!
So glad to see another post from you! Thanks for giving us a look at how awful it must have been!
It's REALLY tough. I am hoping to convey how truly it has been these days. Communication is very poor, and internet almost non existent, this is the reason I am unable to post or take so long to answer. Thank you for understanding and for the tip Melinda! ❤️
I'm glad to see that you made it through and can be connected to the Internet again. The challenges around you must be daunting and almost over-whelming. I'll looking forward to @blacklux being back online, too. I don't know if there are other folks on Steemit from Puerto Rico. Take care.
Hi! Communication here is very inconsistent and very few have any internet. It has been a very long and slow process getting back to some normalcy. Hopefully, Google will change this soon with their satellite emergency balloons.

@tipU - send tips by writing tip! in the comment, get share of the profit :)Ok woman... you didn't tell me that you had internet once again! So happy to see you back on here!
LOL, sorry for the confusion but internet connection is almost none. Most of us here can't even call each other, so unless you can physically go over to your loved ones wherever they are, you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KNOW IF THEY'RE ALIVE or how they're surviving. My heart goes out to those in the countryside, hills and rural areas. If it has been terrible for those of us in town, I can ONLY imagine how it is going for them.
Hang in there. You will be up and hopping soon.
LOL.
So glad to see you back, you’ve been in our thoughts and prayers!
Michelle KEEP US IN THOSE PRAYERS! The island is very unstable, things here don't even seem like it's part of the United States. Healthcare is CHAOTIC, food and communication is scarce. People are on one meal a day if any.
