You're quite right about that.

As you know (based on your last posts) there was a mass exodus at the Steem/Hive split. Things drifted pretty aimlessly for a couple of years... within the last couple of years, we're back to actual community supported independent witnesses, and there are actual initiatives underway to completely redesign/modernize the UI, in an effort to make Steemit "feel like 2025" rather than a glorified Reddit forum.

As a very broad piece of commentary, most of the English speaking/publishing creators went to Hive; the Steemit of today skews heavily international, with very large South American, Asian and African communities. But there's a little bit of everything here, though.
