A day in the life : Day 289

Woke up earlier than usual today, which gave me a rare slow start to the morning. Made some tea instead of coffee and just sat by the window for a while, letting the quiet sink in. It felt good not to rush straight into screens or notifications.

Once I finally powered up the laptop, I started working through a couple of pending tasks I had been avoiding. One was a bug in a small project that turned out to be embarrassingly simple — a missing semicolon. Fixed it in under two minutes, which made me wonder why I delayed it for a week.

Lunch was quick — just some dal and chapati — but I ate away from the desk for a change. No YouTube, no phone, just food. It was strangely refreshing. In the afternoon, I browsed through some open-source repositories for inspiration. Found a few interesting ones and starred them, though I know I’ll probably only revisit a handful.

By evening, I felt the mental fog settling in, so I decided to go for a short walk. The weather was decent, with a light breeze that made the streets feel calmer. Came back, washed up, and spent some time jotting down ideas for my next small coding experiment.

Dinner was simple again — some upma with chutney. Wrapped up the day by reading a couple of blog posts on productivity. Ironically, I didn’t apply any of them today, but it still felt like a day well spent.
