Chapter 4: Insulting Mr. Ning? This Slap Is a Lesson!
Upon hearing that, Xiao Qingcheng didn’t hesitate and turned around to leave immediately.
“Dad, aren’t you making a mountain out of a molehill?”
Xiao Longhai couldn’t understand. “So what if that guy saved you? He’s just a doctor. Our Xiao family has status—why should we go out of our way to please him?”
“I’ve already looked into it. Ning Chen was that fool from the Ning family three years ago. Everyone knows he married into the Liu family!”
Xiao Longshan shook his head. “Second Brother, Mr. Ning carries himself with an extraordinary air—he’s not at all like the rumors.”
“You really believe he’s some kind of miracle doctor?”
Xiao Longhai scoffed. “Even if the Southern Medical King calls himself that kid’s junior, Ning Chen only inserted one needle.”
“Are you telling me that one needle saved Father’s life? I highly doubt it!”
Xiao Longshan frowned and was about to argue when Xiao Zhenbang waved his hand impatiently.
“Regardless, bring him back. If Mr. Ning truly is as capable as he seems, the Xiao family must establish ties with him.”
“Even if he’s not, we should thank him properly!”
At the entrance of the Liu family villa.
Ning Chen stepped out of the car and stared at the villa ahead, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
Eight years ago, the old housekeeper secretly let Ning Chen escape and was expelled from the capital’s Ning family for it.
He settled in Jiang City and built a modest foundation.
After Ning Chen’s final battle left his heart meridian heavily damaged, his master entrusted him to the housekeeper—without explaining why.
The housekeeper believed Ning Chen had become mentally impaired due to an accident.
But still, he accepted him without hesitation.
The housekeeper, old and frail, arranged for Ning Chen to marry into the Liu family so he could be better cared for, even leaving behind a significant inheritance.
But life in the Liu family was far from good.
His wife Liu Qingxue constantly beat and insulted him.
Less than a month after the marriage, the housekeeper suddenly passed away.
To control the inheritance, Liu Qingxue didn’t kick him out, but acted wantonly—bringing her lover home openly.
Ning Chen quickly walked up to the front door.
Indecent sounds came from within.
His eyes turned icy as he kicked the door open with a loud bang!
The villa’s massive doors shattered into pieces from the force.
He calmly stepped inside.
The first to arrive was his mother-in-law, Cai Xiujuan.
“You crazy idiot! You trying to die?”
Face slathered in a facial mask, she had been relaxing when she heard the loud crash.
She rushed out and saw Ning Chen stepping over the broken door.
Furious, she grabbed a stick nearby and swung it at his head without hesitation.
“Useless trash! Breaking down the door? I’ll beat you to death today!”
She struck with ruthless force—this was how she usually “disciplined” him.
But before the stick could land, Ning Chen caught it with one hand.
“Oh? You dare fight back now? Got some nerve, huh?”
There was no fear in Cai Xiujuan’s eyes—only hostility.
“Fight back?”
Ning Chen sneered. “So what if I hit you?”
Smack!
He slapped her hard across the face.
She didn’t even have time to react—she was sent flying.
She clutched her swollen, pig-like face and screamed,
“Qingxue! Qingxue!”
Within seconds, Liu Qingxue ran downstairs disheveled.
“Mom, what happened?”
Seeing her mother on the ground and Ning Chen standing there, Liu Qingxue exploded with anger.
“What’s wrong with you? Can’t you see my mom fell? Why didn’t you help her up?”
She rushed to support Cai Xiujuan.
“This idiot’s gone crazy!”
Cai Xiujuan trembled with rage.
“He actually dared to hit me! Look at my face!”
Her face burned with pain, but more unbearable was the fact that she had been hit—by someone she usually treated like a dog.
“Ning Chen! You want to die?”
Seeing the red handprint on her mother’s face, Liu Qingxue was furious.
“Kneel and apologize now! Kowtow 100 times or I’ll have someone break your legs!”
Usually, the mere sound of her anger would send him trembling into a corner.
But today, Ning Chen stood motionless.
“That’s all it takes to upset you?”
Ning Chen chuckled coldly. “One slap? That’s not even interest.”
“You’re not an idiot anymore?”
Liu Qingxue narrowed her eyes. “So you’ve finally come back to your senses.”
“But just because you’re no longer stupid, you think you can challenge me?”
“Let me tell you—then, now, and forever—you’re nothing more than a dog in my family!”
Clap, clap, clap!
A round of applause echoed.
All three turned toward the stairs.
A young man in pajamas leisurely walked down.
It was Zhang Hao.
“Well said.”
Zhang Hao grinned at Ning Chen. “An idiot is still an idiot. Even if you recover, you’re still a fool.”
He walked up to Liu Qingxue and casually groped her backside, drawing a flirtatious whine from her as she leaned into his arms.
“If I were you, I’d run far, far away.”
Zhang Hao looked down on him. “Do you have any idea how easily I could crush you?”
Ning Chen’s eyes flashed with killing intent.
“You think you deserve to scare me off?”
With hands behind his back, Ning Chen spoke calmly:
“I’ve fought over a hundred battles in my life—fought, bled, and nearly died—but I’ve never run.”
Pfft!
Zhang Hao burst out laughing.
“A hundred battles? All in your dreams, fool?”
Liu Qingxue rolled her eyes. “Zhang Shao, please just have someone throw him out. I’m sick of looking at him.”
Zhang Hao nodded and pulled out his phone, about to make a call.
But Ning Chen took a step forward.
“Return what belongs to the Ning family, and I’ll leave.”
In the past, dealing with people like them would’ve taken just a knife stroke.
But now, with his heart meridian damaged, he had to avoid emotional outbursts and bloodshed.
“The assets the Liu family stole over the past three years—consider it 10 million. Also, the old Ning family house. Give it all back.”
“I’ll divorce you. Then we’re even.”
Liu Qingxue froze for a moment, then let out a mocking laugh.
“Divorce?”
“You? A live-in son-in-law? Worse than a dog? You dare mention divorce? If anyone’s divorcing, it’s me dumping you!”
She pulled out a pre-prepared divorce letter and threw it on the ground.
“Sign it, and get lost!”
Crossing her arms, she sneered,
“As for money—you get nothing. That house is mine. You have no claim.”
Hearing that, Ning Chen smiled faintly.
So, negotiation was off the table. He was ready for that.
Even without raising a hand, he had many ways to make Liu Qingxue obediently cough up everything.
But just then—
a crisp voice echoed behind him.
“Big talk, coming from such a small Liu family.”
Footsteps followed the voice.
Xiao Qingcheng walked in calmly and stepped beside Ning Chen.
The sight of such a stunning beauty made Zhang Hao’s eyes go wide.
“Mr. Ning, forgive my rudeness.”
She then walked up to Liu Qingxue, her expression frosty.
Smack!
A loud slap landed across Liu Qingxue’s face.
Xiao Qingcheng’s voice was cool:
“Insulting Mr. Ning—this slap is your lesson!”
