🚂Task 1✈️

I have headed towards the official website https://www.openttd.org/. I have chosen the latest stable version to download and install the game.

I have downloaded the .exe installer file for my laptop to play the game.

I have completed the installation of the game. It is very easy to install the game using the installer file. There is no any technical requirement to install the game. You just need to select next and install and then finish the installation of the game.

I have allowed the installation of the missing graphics to use in the game. It was 3.36 MBs and it took only a few moments for the complete downloading.

Graphics have been downloaded for the game and now I can see a beautiful screen interface of the game. It is showing me a message to download the sounds. I will pass this message for now and then I will follow the guide given by the professor to download the sounds. I did not participate in the game automated survey because currently I do not have enough knowledge about the game to have a survey.

To setup the game initially and to have necessary graphics and sound tracks I have selected check online content.

This is the section where all the online content is available related to the game. I can see many different options such as searching outside websites and more.

By following the guidelines I have searched fx keyword. In the screenshot you can see the search result and all the available options. We can see that i already have a base graphics OpenGFX.

I am going to download other as well, as suggested by the professor. In the first stage I am going to download basic graphics and basic sounds. The total size of these two items is 21.3 MBs.

I have downloaded base graphics abase file from the online available content. It was a big file of 273 MBs than all other files. Then I have downloaded a music file which is base music Animusic MIDI Pack.

I have selected game options to update the language in the game and the currency in the game. I have set English language in the game. I have set USD currency in the game.

In the game options I have set the newly downloaded graphics set as well as sound which is OpenSFX.

In order to create a new game I have selected new game option. I have used all the settings as suggested by the professor. I have selected biome 2 which is sub-arctic landscape style. I clicked generate and my game was generated.

The game has been created.

To save the game i have selected floppy disk icon. I saved it with its by changing default name to first game. After saving the game I have exit the game.

Now to load my previously saved game I have started the game and from the menu I have chosen load game. Then I have navigated to the saved file location. I searched it there with its name. It appeared on the spot. I selected it and clicked load to load the previously saved game.

The game was loaded successfully. I saved it in the paused mode and after loading it again it is still in the paused mode.

Have you played train games before, or did you have a railway in your childhood?

I have not played these train games before on desktop but I played a small android train game in which we have to collect the materials available in the ground but I am not remembering the name of the game. I did not have a railway in my childhood.

🚂Task 2✈️

Three Toolbar Buttons:

We know that there are several buttons in the toolbar. I will explain three of them. These three buttons are given below:

• Build Railroad Infrastructure
• Town Directory Button
• Industry Directory Button

Build Railroad Infrastructure: This button is used to open the railway construction toolbar. It helps to build the tracks, stations, depots, signals, bridges and tunnels. Each option has further sub options and we can choose any preferred option to build the railway infrastructure.

Town Directory Button: This button opens a list of all the available towns in the game. Here we can sort the towns by population. We can see their location. We can center the camera on the specific town. So it is very useful button in the game.

Industry Directory Button: It includes all the industries available in the world such as coal mines, factories, oil rigs, and more. We can sort them with respect to their cargo production, acceptance, and alphabetical order. We can connect profitable industries using this button.

Describe the windows used in the program.

OpenTTD window uses many interactive windows to manage the different aspects in the game. Unlike other ordinary widows applications these windows in the game contains special buttons to control the transport simulation rather than the standard file or edit functions.

One example of these windows is cities or town windows. As I have mentioned earlier it shows all the available towns in the game. This window has several buttons. They are unusual but purpose specific in the game.

Sorting Buttons: These buttons allow the players to re-order the list of all the available towns. The towns can be sorted in descending order and ascending order. They can also be sorted with respect to their names, population, and rating. This sorting allows us to choose our desired town for the specific purpose.

Clicking on Town Name: This is used to directly center the main view of the game on the selected town. It is very useful on the large maps. It works like a magnifying glass button but it is not visible.

In the town or cities window there is also a filter option which is used to search or filter the towns on the basis of the keywords.

It has other buttons such as close window, shade window, resize window. These buttons are almost commons in all the windows.

🚂Task 3✈️

To choose a city with the population of around 500 people I have opened the town directory window. In this window I have sorted the towns with respect to their population. Then I have sorted the population according to the ascending number. I have selected Grunborough from the list. It has a population of 521 inhabitants.

I have edited the nae of the town with my steem username with the suffix town.

After checking all the nearest cities of my town mohammadfaisaltown which has population of 521, I have decided to choose the nearest and bigger town Tehill. It has 770 population. It is situated on the right side.

I have given it a name with the name of the capital of my country. Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan.

Now in order to name my company I have opened the general company information window. By default it shows all the above information.

	Selection of new face or avatar
	Selection of colour scheme. I have chosen green colour.

I have successfully built the office of the company in my city mohammadfaisaltown. I faced problem of building it at the roads or on the other buildings. So at last I got it and I placed it where it was an empty space. You can see my green colour office is now visible on the map. It cost me 674 USD to install the office.

🚂Task 4✈️

Here I will test the landscape tool. I will use clear tools, mounds, and depressions tools. I will try to write the text using these tools. Then I will test the plantation tool to plant the trees on the land. At the end I will be using the transparency tool.

In order to test the land clear tool in the the landscape window I got an option of demolish to demolish the items on the land. I have clear the trees from the land using this feature.

I have tried mounds and depressions. I have tried to write the letter F using both the options of mounds and depressions. You can see in the picture that the letter F is visible. It was not easy or me because it is the first time doing all this but the happiness is that I did it.

Here you can see I have used plant trees tool to plant some trees on the land. I ave planted different types of trees near my office in my city.

Now in order to use transparency I have opened the settings of the game. I have chosen transparency option. In the transparency window we can see different options to hide and show.

In this way we can use transparency feature to hide or to make them completely invisible.

🚂Task 5✈️

In order to explore the industries and resources on the map I have opened the industry directory. The widow is in front of you and there are a number of industries in it. We can sort them by name, category, and cargo acceptance.

	Gold

I have found these resources on the map. There are more similar resources. From all these resources 0% has transported. I think if I transport these resources then I can make money. Near my city I have found oil wells which produced oil but it was not transported.

I have selected oil resource. Near my city there is another city Ratwood where I have found some oil wells. My city city has oil refinery plant in it. I think the oil from the wells of Ratwood city can be transported to my city mohammadfaisaltown where the oil can be refined.

The raw oil extracted from the wells can be transported to the oil refinery available in my city and that raw oil can be converted into goods.
