I didn't understand it at first when Picard pushed Wesley out of the way, and then looked up towards the oncoming rocks, and then took everyone of them. It seemed silly and pointless. But I now realise the heroic statement he was making. Picard got stronger and more powerful because he didn't move out of the way for life; stubbornness was his strength.

He's just standing there looking up after pushing Wesley to safety. His eyes are beckoning the rocks. He needs those rocks.
