DTube 0.9/1.0: Account, Keys, and Authorizations

Thanks to The DTube team which has recently launched a new DTube 0.9 test-network https://d.tube/ with it's independent Blockchain Network. DTube 0.9 has been well integrated with Steemit (https://steemit.com/). It supports several features from day 1, including; but not limited to (Refer to https://steemit.com/dtube/@dtube/dtube-0-9-doubling-up-your-rewards for details):

• Uploading/Publishing a Video Post from URL
• New Independent Blockchain Network with it's native token DTC
  • ... requires a new DTube account
• Vote on tags
• Promote posts by burning-up DTC tokens to rank-up your posts
• Creation of your own DTube (in partnership with Steem Engine)
• Working search engine features

DTube 0.9 is a test network for DTube's chain, while DTube 1.0 will be a mainnet which is expected to be launched within next 2 months.

Today I want to discuss about DTube 0.9/1.0 Account, Keys, and Authorizations as Keys in DTube 0.9/1.0 are manged a bit differently (from end-user point of view) with lot granularity provided for authorization/permissions settings.

DTube 0.9/1.0 Account & Keypairs

Since DTube 0.9/1.0 is an independent Blockchain Network, it requires a new account to be created, to be part of D.Tube 0.9/1.0. You can not use Steemit account in DTube 0.9/1.0. But thanks to The DTube team as they have implemented the Steem Onboarding process to provide you the possibility to claim your new account in DTube with identical name as you had in Steemit.

The deadline for Steem Onboarding process is limited up to 31st July 2019. So, be hurry up... 🙋‍♀

As you know, your Steem account does have 1 Master Password and 4 different Keypairs for you. But during DTube 0.9/1.0 account creation process you will get a single new Keypair which has all the authorities (maximum permissions) that you need.

You can see your Keypairs connected with your DTube 0.9/1.0 account under your D.Tube Channel as shown in this picture:

Here you can add and connect new Keypairs with your DTube 0.9/1.0 account under New Key`.

DTube 0.9/1.0 Account Permissions

DTube 0.9/1.0 account provides you very granular level of control on your Key's Permissions.

The 1st Keypair created during your account creation process has all the rights to perform any action on your account and wallet related actions. You can attach additional Keypairs with your account. And for each Keypair you can choose to assign following permissions:

This is much better than Steem default Keypair options (though you may attach additional Keys and permissions via CLI for Steem accounts).
